John Grisham’s class legal thriller was made into a TV series. I’m breaking down The Rainmaker Season 1 Episode 1 recap. I conservatively give this series a 3 out of 5 stars, mostly because they cast Lana Parrilla as Bruiser … Bruiser was a man in the books, so this little twist is great. The first episode starts a bit on the slow side, but it got exciting with the last scene.
The season closes with Gary Pearlman’s confession and Ballard smashing his hand with Rawls’s kettlebell. The motive is spelled out: misogyny, control, punishing women for living on their own terms. Sarah wasn”t his daughter, so she became his target. Rawls’s funeral and and Ballard’s endless concussions pile on until the last blow: she is arrested for Olivas’s murder. And yet again, Ballard goes down a system that would rather bury her than back her.
Episode 9 finally lands a gut punch. Naomi Bennett returns as the lone survivor, and her broken memory unlocks the truth: Gary Pearlman is the killer. The irony. This is the same family that fought Ballard every step, and it was the harboring the monster behind it all. Rawls’s death twists the knife. His arc from Pearlman’s lapdog to an actual ally gave him depth, and then he gets dropped by a bullet. The win feels hollow.
Tea in Korean is ì°¨ (cha), and it is part of daily life. My best Korean retinol tea recipe blends green tea, roasted barley, ginger, apple cinnamon, and honey into a drink that is simple, refreshing, and skin friendly. Some people call it “Meryl Streep Korean tea,” but that was just shade interesting marketing right there. The real tea is worth making at home, whether you drink it hot or chilled straight from the fridge.
Olivas finally goes down, and it is the first time this season I felt an ending land. He plays family man at the ice cream shop, but Ballard and Bosch are across the street waiting to knock him off his pedestal. Martina risks herself, and Manny Santos flips. Santos’s confession seals it for Olivas. The arrest isn”t surprising, but watching that smug face drop was worth it. The lipstick clue keeps the Pearlman case alive.
Ballard wakes up stitched and stubborn. She holes up at the Sand Dollar with a loaded bedside gun. Bosch appears like gravity. The Lee family cold case hits hard. Jun spirals. She talks him down and knocks the gun away, even as Nathan Kim reaches for it. And then the phone stunt works, for now, but the number it exposes makes her see red.
Episode 6 finally swings hard. The deadline is a setup, homicide circling like vultures. Ballard digs through souvenirs that lead nowhere, then the lab flips the table. Mike Garrison is a victim, not the killer. Parker is done hiding and confronts Olivas for rape and gaslighting. Abril gives the case a heartbeat. Driscoll makes it to Ballard’s house and tries to finish her. She turns the blade and breathes. The case is alive now. So is she.
Episode 5 finally moves. Ballard opens a storage unit tied to Mike Garrison and finds rows of boxes that feel like a graveyard. We also have Tony Montana circling like a shark. But his buddy Santos grows uneasy. Parker’s confession lands hard, not for pity, but because it explains her armor. For the first time, I believe this show might actually pull it off.
Episode 4 wants to balance cartel conspiracies with Ballard’s personal demons, but the scale tips too far into Hell. Martina and Hatteras push Yulia’s story forward. That should be enough to carry the episode, but instead we get bogged down with Ken’s death, Ballard’s grief, Olivas lurking, and Parker’s simmering baggage. The recycled gun finally gives the show teeth, but the Tony Montana reveal feels silly, even as it cements the dirty cop pipeline.
Episode 3 drags us into frat house rot. Nick Thatcher’s fall wasn”t just a drunken stumble, it was wrapped in a culture of exploitation written down in disgusting detail. Meredith’s confession lands hard, which proves that sometimes solving cases isn’t the same as finding justice. Meanwhile, the dirty cop shifts his attention to Martina. And we all start to have an appreciation for Laffont, the steady eddie of the cold case unit.
Ballard is circling suspects, but the episode feels like a slow shuffle compared to her shotgun debut. She takes harassment in stride, and plays politics with Pearlman while Parker chases down Frosty. The lifeguard shows up naked in front of Tutu, which is honestly more entertaining than half the case work. The real jolt comes at the end when the mysterious truck tailing Ballard is revealed to be driven by LAPD.
Fresh peach desserts are my favorite way to celebrate the end of summer. Whether you’re slicing them for peaches and cream, layering them into a shortcake, or baking them into a golden galette, each bite reminds me why peach season is worth the wait. These recipes are easy, versatile, and perfect for savoring sunny days.
Renée Ballard storms into the series with a shotgun, shattering glass in a laundromat and knocking a suspect flat before we can even say “Maggie Q.” The LAPD wants her on a leash, but she’s already circling her new cold case unit with impatience. Council politics creep in, and then the cleaning lady turns up dead. Just when the story feels like it might stall, the DNA result slams the door open to a serial killer and Bosch’s unfinished work.
So how long do felonies stay on your record, anyhoo? Despite popular belief of the ‘seven-year rule,” none such exists. This “rule” is generally only for background checks and credit checks. The real answer: a felony stays on your record unless you file for an expungement or your record being sealed (there is a difference). Let’s break down how long felonies last, whether they expire, and what options exist if you want them gone.
Here are all the books in order by John Grisham, whom I consider to be the father of the legal fiction thriller. I realize that he wasn’t the first, but he is certainly one of the most prolific. With The Rainmaker TV show streaming right now, I thought it would be nice to pull up all of his books.

This is my list of the best TV show lawyers. The criteria I used is only one: how memorable is this character? But I did not limit my list to just the legal thrillers (or detective shows). Because being a great TV attorney isn’t about having your name in the show name (or on the letterhead).
Different types of lawyers handle completely different jobs, and some never step foot in a courtroom. Sure, general practitioners still exist in small towns handling everything from divorces to DUIs. But most law firms now hire specialized attorneys who focus on one area. The legal field splits into dozens of specialties, and each one requires different skills, training, and temperament. Here’s a list of common types so you can pick your next legal career.
So can you trademark a phrase? Hell yes, you can. But why would you? Not every catchy line you scribble on a napkin qualifies for legal protection. If your phrase is distinctive, and you use it in commerce to identify your goods or services, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will let you protect it just like a logo or business name. But there’s more to it than that. Let’s cut through the legal noise and break down what actually works.
If you’ve ever wondered about the difference between attorney and lawyer, you’re not alone. These terms get thrown around interchangeably in TV shows, movies, and everyday conversation But is there an actual distinction? Yes, there is. Here’s my handy dandy guide to the word precision so you can impress your friends at trivia night. The TL;DR? Lawyers have graduated from law school and have a Juris Doctor (J.D.). Attorney have passed the bar exam and have a license to practice law.

My Bosch Legacy Season 3 Episode 2 recap & review. A funeral sets the stage before diving into old military wounds and Honey’s campaign moves. The Gallagher case anchors the story, echoing Bosch’s own missing family arc from last season. Viewers are waiting for Harry to unleash the relentless drive we expect.
Here’s my long awaited Bosch Legacy Season 3 Episode 1 recap and review. The season begins eight months after the events of the last season. Honey is hot on the campaign trail, Jimmy is hot on Bosch’s trail, and Maddie is hot on the trail of a follow-home robbery scheme.
I started experimenting for the best essential oils for sugar scrub after I first encountered some in the women’s bathroom. Some nice lady had made it and left it out for everyone to enjoy. Unlike most strong scents (aka the Body Shop’s yucky stuff), this didn’t make me break out or give me a migraine. I learned afterward about the wonderfulness of essential oils. They are natural, so less of a problem for those sensitive skinned and nose sensitive souls like myself.
These crackers with sea salt remind me of my annual vacation in Myrtle Beach. I’m pretending that I’m on the oceanfront patio, eating a nice bowl of soup, topped with these crackers. The best part is that they are simple to make, and so very versatile. You can add a bit of cheese, pair them with a dip, or just plain eat them on their own.
When you want a versatile side dish, this homemade potato wedges recipe baked in the oven pairs perfectly with everything from burgers to roasted chicken. Honestly, you can get away with just using cheapo russet potatoes, but you can also jazz it up with almost any type … including those cute little ones that you can buy in the bag.
One day, I came up with this fried chicken chips recipe, simply breaded with flour for something a little different. I paired it with lots of different dips, like ranch dressing, BBQ sauce, honey mustard, and some gochujang. These crunchy chips are gone as soon as I take them off the frying pan. For added flavor, use a dab of Crisco or bacon grease.
For something a little different, try this baked zucchini with tomato sauce. You grill some zucchini slices, roll them up, and stuff with some whole garlic cloves and fresh mozzarella. For a bit of flavor, you can also grill the garlic! I also happen to be in love with a good tomato sauce, and this recipe hits the spot for Meatless Monday.

Bosch is trailed, Honey gambles her career on a courtroom move, and Maddie ends up in the middle of the fight with Ellis. The whole hour is a tangle of FBI pressure, legal maneuvers, family fractures, and in-fighting that finally explode at the marina. If you thought Bosch had things under control, then you don’t know what’s what because nothing ever goes his way. Let’s get into the Bosch Legacy Season 2 Episode 9 recap below.
Bosch and Chandler straight into the fires of the 7th circle. Ellis and Long try to run Bosch off the road, Mo ends up in the hospital, and Honey’s office gets raided by the FBI. In other words, a nice Bosch day. If you thought things were rough before, Hollywood is legit broken on this one. Let’s break it down in the Bosch Legacy Season 2 Episode 8 recap below.
Bosch realizes he may have set off a chain of violence, Maddie gets pulled deeper into the CRU sting, and Honey faces leaks meant to crush her reputation. Ellis and Long circle closer to Bosch’s family while Mo keeps digging into Quinn. By the time Bosch connects the dots around Lexi’s watch, the danger is no longer hypothetical. It’s sitting right in his damn living room. Let’s break it down in the Bosch Legacy Season 2 Episode 7 recap below.
Every storyline starts to collide in this episode. Bosch pushes deeper into James Allen’s murder while Honey faces off in court and Maddie steps into Dockweiler’s sentencing. Mo plays hacker again, which feels like it’s going to blow up in his face sooner rather than later. I mean, seriously, who does this illegal stuff for someone else not even an argument??? Let’s get into the Bosch Legacy Season 2 Episode 6 recap below.
Bosch keeps digging into Lexi’s murder while Honey maneuvers against Matthew, knowing the FBI is building its case. Maddie’s work with CRU exposes her temper in the field, showing she’s not as steady as she wants to be. The episode ends with Honey boxed in, Bosch sniffing out new angles, and the pawn shop pulling in more dangerous players. Let’s get into the Bosch Legacy Season 2 Episode 5 recap below.
We shift gears into high-stakes territory, blending Maddie’s promotion, Bosch’s pursuit of a new lead, and Honey being cornered in a brutal setup. The FBI is circling, Honey’s enemies are playing dirty, and Bosch keeps pressing even when the evidence looks thin. By the end, secrets unravel and Honey lands in real danger that reeks of entrapment. Let’s dig into what it all means in the Bosch Legacy Season 2 Episode 4 recap below.
We are now thrown into the aftermath of a brutal murder while pulling Bosch, Honey, and Maddie into overlapping investigations that expose cracks in the system. Maddie is grinding through her police work while Bosch tangles with the FBI and a shady law firm. Honey is caught between her legal ethics and survival instincts. The mess only gets worse as alliances shift and evidence doesn’t add up. Let’s break down what it all means in the Bosch Legacy Season 2 Episode 3 recap below.
This episode pushes Harry to his breaking point while Maddie struggles underground. The episode teases the edge of survival with scorpions, collapsing air tubes, and Bosch on the verge of losing control. It’s tense, frantic, and oddly procedural for a man who just wants his daughter back. One thing, though, Bosch never fully takes off his detective cap. Let’s dig into the Bosch Legacy Season 2 Episode 2 recap below.
I love peaches, which are typically in season late June through August. This easy recipe will show you how to make peach galette with that beautiful bounty. I know I’m a little early for this recipe (or maybe a little late, if you are the glass-is-half-empty kind of person), but the Giant was having a sale on peaches the other day, so I decided to whip this up.
Maddie’s abduction sets the tone for Bosch Legacy Season 2, and the show wastes no time throwing us in media res. Bosch must use his cop detective brain to conduct his most personal investigation yet, with the Thai Town Rapist revealed as the culprit. The episode doesn’t just build suspense; it punches you in the gut with Bosch’s desperation and raw emotion. Stick around as we break down the Bosch Legacy Season 2 Episode 1 recap below.

The finale balances courtroom victories with personal sacrifices as Mickey uncovers how deep corruption runs in the justice system. And we are once again reminded that the people who win are the rich and the powerful. Unless Mickey Haller is your lawyer.
The trial pushes forward as the defense and prosecution battle over testimony that could change everything. As the courtroom drama intensifies, the team faces challenges that test their loyalty and resolve. Each move brings them closer to a verdict, but further from certainty about who can be trusted.
The “legal” in the legal thriller. With the defense gaining traction, Mickey seizes on overlooked details that reframe the prosecution’s strongest argument. But as allies clash and outside threats loom larger, the balance between victory and disaster grows thinner by the hour.
The trial heats up as testimony challenges the strength of the prosecution, while outside forces tighten their grip on the defense team. Loyalties are tested and hidden dangers begin to surface, leaving uncertainty about what comes next.

The reason why Supreme Court justices are appointed for life boils down to one word: independence. But independence from what? Political pressure, public opinion, and the constant scramble for job security that plagues every other government position. And yet, that’s exactly what we are seeing right now, as the Supreme Court justices are bowing to the conservative “Trump” pressure. I’ll go through why the Founders thought this was a good idea.

Uk’s punishment at Songrim takes a physical toll, leaving him bruised and isolated. When a dangerous surge of energy begins to boil and then freeze within him, Naksu steps in, not with sympathy, but with a mix of sharp words and practical care, to see if he can survive the transformation. But results of survival spur Uk into a political fight, both literal and figurative, with the Crown Prince.
Episode 3 shifts the focus from heavy backstory to advancing the main plot. Uk begins training under Mu-deok (Naksu) under the condition their partnership remain secret. The Soul Ejector’s role in past and present schemes becomes clearer, while Park Jin attempts to keep Uk’s life on the quiet path. The episode closes with Uk’s public humiliation, but he gains a deeper resolve to become the bad ass mage we want him to be.
Jang Uk drags Mu-deok back into his orbit after she tries to run, convinced she’s the assassin Naksu. Mu-deok struggles to hide her true identity while surviving in a weak body, but Uk is determined to make her his master so he can unlock his sealed power. Their bickering partnership is interrupted at Songrim, where Gwigu, the stone dog, nearly exposes her soul-shift. Meanwhile, political tensions grow as Park Jin watches Uk’s every move. By the end, Uk makes it clear he won’t give up on training under Mu-deok, no matter how much she threatens to kill him.
The story opens in the middle of a battle, with Naksu fighting off a squad of mages before being cornered and badly wounded. To survive, she performs a soul shift into the nearest body: Mu-deok, a blind girl of humble origins, only to find herself weak and powerless. Meanwhile, Jang Uk, the troublemaking heir of a powerful mage family, searches for a master willing to help him break the seal blocking his power. When he crosses paths with Mu-deok, he notices something off about her and decides she’s the one who can train him, setting the stage for their uneasy alliance.

With Valentine’s Day tomorrow, I thought appropriate to summarize the Loving v. Virginia Supreme Court case. This case was an important one in the fight for racial equality. I also think that the case’s name (Loving) is super en pointe. Awhile ago, it was made into a beautiful movie called Loving.
Can I lose custody for dating a felon? I’m not judging you at all. But you know, there are a lot of fish in the sea. However, the short answer is: possibly, depending on the circumstances.
