John Grisham's class legal thriller was made into a TV series. I'm breaking down The Rainmaker Season 1 Episode 1 recap. I conservatively give this series a 3 out of 5 stars, mostly because they cast Lana Parrilla as Bruiser ... Bruiser was a man in the books, so this little twist is great. The first episode starts a bit on the slow side, but it got exciting with the last scene.

The Rainmaker Season 1 Episode 1 Recap & Review

John Grisham’s class legal thriller was made into a TV series. I’m breaking down The Rainmaker Season 1 Episode 1 recap. I conservatively give this series a 3 out of 5 stars, mostly because they cast Lana Parrilla as Bruiser … Bruiser was a man in the books, so this little twist is great. The first episode starts a bit on the slow side, but it got exciting with the last scene.

Here's where the rubber meets the road. I'll explain in this Ballard Season 1 Episode 10 recap all the good, the bad, and the ugly from the season. The mechanics of this episode are superficial. I guess AI has taken over in the writers' room. Lots of plot holes, a flashy but predictable ending, Ballard yet again getting herself in trouble, and sprinklings of Harry Bosch to satisfy the fans because they obviously know this show isn't doing too well without him. 2.5 out of 5 stars for this episode, 2.5 out of 5 stars for the season.

Ballard Season 1 Episode 10 Recap & Review [The Finale Is Okay]

The season closes with Gary Pearlman’s confession and Ballard smashing his hand with Rawls’s kettlebell. The motive is spelled out: misogyny, control, punishing women for living on their own terms. Sarah wasn”t his daughter, so she became his target. Rawls’s funeral and and Ballard’s endless concussions pile on until the last blow: she is arrested for Olivas’s murder. And yet again, Ballard goes down a system that would rather bury her than back her.

I got the deets here in my Ballard Season 1 Episode 9 recap. This episode was the best of the season, particularly because of the major twist. Like, I didn't even expect it. I pretty much guessed who the killer was long before this episode ... I'll tell you in the Ending Explained section, below ... but how it went down was sad. 4 out of 5 stars for this episode.

Ballard Season 1 Episode 9 Recap & Review [Almost Good]

Episode 9 finally lands a gut punch. Naomi Bennett returns as the lone survivor, and her broken memory unlocks the truth: Gary Pearlman is the killer. The irony. This is the same family that fought Ballard every step, and it was the harboring the monster behind it all. Rawls’s death twists the knife. His arc from Pearlman’s lapdog to an actual ally gave him depth, and then he gets dropped by a bullet. The win feels hollow.

This is my best Korean retinol tea recipe. I love it as a hot tea, but it really shines if you put it in the fridge ... tea bags, barley, ginger, and honey in the container, basically to let it seep. I like to drink a cup of coffee in the morning, but then I sip this tea all day long. (I usually cut it off around 2:00 though because green tea does have caffeine in it.) It's simple to make, and if you don't want to make a fresh brew everyday, just throw it in the fridge, and heat a cup in the microwave!

Best Korean Retinol Tea Recipe … And It’s Not by Meryl Streep

Tea in Korean is ì°¨ (cha), and it is part of daily life. My best Korean retinol tea recipe blends green tea, roasted barley, ginger, apple cinnamon, and honey into a drink that is simple, refreshing, and skin friendly. Some people call it “Meryl Streep Korean tea,” but that was just shade interesting marketing right there. The real tea is worth making at home, whether you drink it hot or chilled straight from the fridge.

The Ballard Season 1 Episode 8 recap. The episode begins with Olivas, the night of Driscoll's attack on Ballard, and it ends with his long-awaited, very satisfying arrest. I was quite pleased to see that smug S.O.B. being taken down, even if I was totally expective that he would be. This episode is the best we've had so far, although it's still been quite vanilla with a bunch of gimmicky thrown in. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Ballard Season 1 Episode 8 Recap & Review [Better Still]

Olivas finally goes down, and it is the first time this season I felt an ending land. He plays family man at the ice cream shop, but Ballard and Bosch are across the street waiting to knock him off his pedestal. Martina risks herself, and Manny Santos flips. Santos’s confession seals it for Olivas. The arrest isn”t surprising, but watching that smug face drop was worth it. The lipstick clue keeps the Pearlman case alive.

My Ballard Season 1 Episode 7 recap. Harry Bosch makes his way back into the scene, taking a pivotal role as Ballard steals some of the evidence, then Harry dumps it onto what will be an active crime scene. Unfortunately, this also opens up another loose end that the writers did not address, so I'm beginning to suspect they are all amateurs. But the show has taken its roots and growing stronger each episode. I am looking up. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Ballard Season 1 Episode 7 Recap & Review [Even A Little Bit Better]

Ballard wakes up stitched and stubborn. She holes up at the Sand Dollar with a loaded bedside gun. Bosch appears like gravity. The Lee family cold case hits hard. Jun spirals. She talks him down and knocks the gun away, even as Nathan Kim reaches for it. And then the phone stunt works, for now, but the number it exposes makes her see red.

Here's the Ballard Season 1 Episode 6 recap. Ballard and the team are under a 72 hour clock, otherwise the Chief will take the Pearlman et al cases and transfer to homicide. We all know they aren't gonna make that timeline, to set us up for how the "all hope is lost" beat. But, you know, they still have this cartel/cop thing they need to deal with. And deal with it she does.

Ballard Season 1 Episode 6 Recap & Review [Better]

Episode 6 finally swings hard. The deadline is a setup, homicide circling like vultures. Ballard digs through souvenirs that lead nowhere, then the lab flips the table. Mike Garrison is a victim, not the killer. Parker is done hiding and confronts Olivas for rape and gaslighting. Abril gives the case a heartbeat. Driscoll makes it to Ballard’s house and tries to finish her. She turns the blade and breathes. The case is alive now. So is she.

It's taken 5 episodes to get there, but I'm happy to report in this Ballard Season 1 Episode 5 recap & review that the show has improved. It's still not the best show ... not Bosch level good ... but it has finally started getting there. If it continues to improve like this, I think I might finally recommend it by the season's end. Hopeful fingers crossed, because I love Maggie Q and want this to be a slam dunk win for her.

Ballard Season 1 Episode 5 Recap & Review [Okay]

Episode 5 finally moves. Ballard opens a storage unit tied to Mike Garrison and finds rows of boxes that feel like a graveyard. We also have Tony Montana circling like a shark. But his buddy Santos grows uneasy. Parker’s confession lands hard, not for pity, but because it explains her armor. For the first time, I believe this show might actually pull it off.

Here's my Ballard Season 1 Episode 4 recap & review. We've gone from blah back to meh. The police department politics, although I think are probably fairly accurate, is quite cumbersome and slow to get to the uptake. The effect is that it weighs the entire story down to the point that it's insufferable. Added to that, but they keep piling it on Ballard. They also quickly go through several different investigations, jumping around illogically, so you have to really pay attention to figure out what in the world they are working on. It's kind of a drag. 2 out of 5 stars.

Ballard Season 1 Episode 4 Recap & Review [Back to Meh]

Episode 4 wants to balance cartel conspiracies with Ballard’s personal demons, but the scale tips too far into Hell. Martina and Hatteras push Yulia’s story forward. That should be enough to carry the episode, but instead we get bogged down with Ken’s death, Ballard’s grief, Olivas lurking, and Parker’s simmering baggage. The recycled gun finally gives the show teeth, but the Tony Montana reveal feels silly, even as it cements the dirty cop pipeline.

We continue with Ballard Season 1 Episode 3 recap & review, which continues the meh and enters the blah. As if her LAPD politics aren't enough, she also has additional trauma about her dad dying. The writers pack it on way too thick, I think, and it's crushing even me. 1 out of 5 stars.

Ballard Season 1 Episode 3 Recap & Review [Blah]

Episode 3 drags us into frat house rot. Nick Thatcher’s fall wasn”t just a drunken stumble, it was wrapped in a culture of exploitation written down in disgusting detail. Meredith’s confession lands hard, which proves that sometimes solving cases isn’t the same as finding justice. Meanwhile, the dirty cop shifts his attention to Martina. And we all start to have an appreciation for Laffont, the steady eddie of the cold case unit.

My Ballard Season 1 Episode 2 recap and review. Honestly, I thought Ballard was going to be a little punchier because of the first episode's intro scene, a nifty chase scene with a shotgun. But it's turning out to be slow. Really slow. Without the chemistry that the other Bosch shows had between the characters. I consider this episode to be mainly filler.

Ballard Season 1 Episode 2 Recap & Review [Still Meh]

Ballard is circling suspects, but the episode feels like a slow shuffle compared to her shotgun debut. She takes harassment in stride, and plays politics with Pearlman while Parker chases down Frosty. The lifeguard shows up naked in front of Tutu, which is honestly more entertaining than half the case work. The real jolt comes at the end when the mysterious truck tailing Ballard is revealed to be driven by LAPD.

Ballard Season 1 Episode 1 Recap & Review: Renée Ballard kicks off her cold case unit with a shotgun, messy LAPD politics, Parker drama, and a cliffhanger DNA link to Harry Bosch.

Ballard Season 1 Episode 1 Recap & Review [Kinda Meh]

Renée Ballard storms into the series with a shotgun, shattering glass in a laundromat and knocking a suspect flat before we can even say “Maggie Q.” The LAPD wants her on a leash, but she’s already circling her new cold case unit with impatience. Council politics creep in, and then the cleaning lady turns up dead. Just when the story feels like it might stall, the DNA result slams the door open to a serial killer and Bosch’s unfinished work.

So how long do felonies stay on your record, anyhoo? Despite popular belief of the "seven-year rule," none such exists. This "rule" is generally only for background checks and credit checks. The real answer: a felony stays on your record unless you file for an expungement or your record being sealed (there is a difference). Let’s break down how long felonies last, whether they expire, and what options exist if you want them gone.

Can You Trademark a Phrase and Keep Others From Using It?

So can you trademark a phrase? Hell yes, you can. But why would you? Not every catchy line you scribble on a napkin qualifies for legal protection. If your phrase is distinctive, and you use it in commerce to identify your goods or services, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will let you protect it just like a logo or business name. But there’s more to it than that. Let’s cut through the legal noise and break down what actually works.

The difference between attorney and lawyer is one of those things everyone thinks they know until someone actually asks. Spoiler: the two terms are different. The TL;DR? An attorney is someone who passed a bar exam and has a professional license, while a lawyer is someone who graduated from law school and has a Juris Doctor (J.D.). You can be one or the other, or be both. Let's go into the deets below.

My Bosch Legacy Season 3 Episode 2 Recap & Review. The episode starts at Josh Brady’s funeral, then slows down into war stories and Honey’s campaign games. The Gallagher family case takes center stage in this season, pulling Bosch into a disappearance that looks more like foul play than a weekend getaway. It's an interest correlation from last season, where he had to find his own missing family. So we are all waiting to see the Harry Bosch juggernaut that we all love.

Bosch Legacy Season 3 Episode 2 Recap & Review [Okay]

My Bosch Legacy Season 3 Episode 2 recap & review. A funeral sets the stage before diving into old military wounds and Honey’s campaign moves. I started experimenting for the best essential oils for sugar scrub after I first encountered some in the women's bathroom. Some nice lady had made it and left it out for everyone to enjoy. Unlike most strong scents (aka the Body Shop's yucky stuff), this didn't make me break out or give me a migraine. I learned afterward about the wonderfulness of essential oils. They are natural, so less of a problem for those sensitive skinned and nose sensitive souls like myself.

The FBI plays the recording. Honey says no deal to the FBI blustering. (She keeps saying that she can fix this. So she obviously has something. And it's gonna go boom.) Maddie yells at Bosch passing on the protection from Ellis. A former arrestee recognized Bosch, who put him away for a dime.  Ellis is on a boat with a buddy of his, who gives him clothes and a new identity. The dude squeezes him for more money. Marty and Honey. She says again that she will fix it. Honey makes a statement (but we don't see it). Maurice and Quinn on the phone. But we see it on the television. The FBI wants to figure out what she is doing. Honey and Chandler at the DA's office, who won't free Foster because the DA charged an innocent man. A nosy bird is too nosy with Dan's boat (where Ellis is). Ellis takes his mean ass gun to him. Bosch tells Maurice to just watch the twins. Honey got a hearing for the next day. At the Feds hearing. She calls William Barron first. She asks about the shredded documents. Then Amanda Scones on the stand. Amanda testifies that she has all the files related to Carl Rogers. The FBI has egg on their face. And we had fruit of the poisonous tree. The Motion to Quash and Traverse is granted, and any evidence from the search evidence is suppressed. Bosch drives home and thinks he sees Ellis. He makes a left hand turn, but the police get him. CRU was tailing Bosch. Maurice calls, talking about jumping ship. Bosch shakes his LAPD tail when he goes to the record store. Maddie complains about Bosch. They figure out that Ellis is on Dan's boat. Maddie figures out that Harry isn't at home because Sam is walking Coltrane and she has a cell phone tracker. Maurice finds the boat. Maddie and Vasquez arrives at the marina. Ellis is on the boat and sees Bosch. Struggle inside the boat. Maddie hears when a gunshot goes off. She saves Bosch by shooting (and killing) Ellis. Is it bad that I think Maddie is so not believable? Quinn walks in the door at the FBI center ... it's Agent Morrell.

Can I lose custody for dating a felon? I'm not judging you at all. But you know, there are a lot of fish in the sea.  However, the short answer is: possibly, depending on the circumstances. When a parent begins a relationship with someone who has a felony conviction, family courts may view that relationship as a potential risk to the child’s safety and stability. If the other parent raises the issue in court, the judge can consider the felon’s record as a factor in modifying custody. That means dating a felon could complicate custody arrangements, or in some cases, even result in losing custody altogether.

Coconut oil has many practical uses for the body, from skincare to haircare and beyond. I usually buy a refined, organic version (Nature’s Promise) at the grocery store since I do not like the strong coconut smell of the unrefined type. Both refined and unrefined coconut oil are available, and I prefer the organic, cold-pressed option when possible. One jar lasts me for months, though I do not use it for cooking. (I usually cook with sesame seed and olive oils.)

100 Awesome Uses for Coconut Oil

The uses for coconut oil go way beyond cooking. This stuff handles everything from skincare to household cleaning, and one jar lasts me months. I buy refined, organic coconut oil at the grocery store because I hate the strong coconut smell of unrefined versions. But it’s super cheap on Amazon. You can grab either type, but refined works better if you want something neutral.
